Education in entertainment

Hello,

I fear that one of the prime ways we will lose members is through a lack of activity within the alliance. While Illyriad is certainly a long term strategy game, newer players may find it hard to invest months of their time with no immediate gratification. I am not proposing we go around subjugating unaffiliated players, or starting pointless wars.

I'd like to turn the attention to the Tripartite Axis. These are two alliances near enough to ours. BlackRock Bros is closer to our specific population and may prove to intially be the better competitor for Han, whereas Hansa is significantly larger, and may prove useful for specific set of wargames. If we can get our member population back up to around forty members, and keep it from lapsing, I think it would be time to start a mock war with BlackRock. Both sides can re-learn much needed combat skills, and get some fun battles under their belt.

For Hansa, perhaps we could eventually try fighting against a superior opponent, and adapting to the stress of such an event, or perhaps they would agree to a 2v1 (BlackRock and Han v Hansa) to work on teamwork.

Of course there is also just competition within our own alliances. BlackRock currently has such a tournament going on: Rules: Send one (1) battle report for each type of NPC killed to Djehuti the Silent. The player who kills the most different types of animals wins. Monsterous, Undead, and Elemental will also count - anything but other players or factions. NOTE: This does not pertain to the sub species of animals found in NPC groups, meaning a giant rat and a ratling still only counts as one (1) type of animal.

they also encourage their members to migrate to their chosen area as well: Qualification Requirements : To participate in this tournament you must be a member of Blackrock Orcs, and have at least one (1) city within the Orken Coast or neighboring territories (Almenly, Strendur, Pirate Isles, Shardlands, Vindorel, and The Long White).

I believe we can either shamelessly steal this idea, or adapt it to work for Han. I also believe once we start rebuilding our membership we can begin scheduling inter-alliance mock wars.

Thoughts?

Thats good, maybe like a prestige scrap or something to enter the alliance prestige pool.

I agree that's a good approach, we can set that up sooner rather than later and its much more fun if is competitive.

Or war with minor alliances over territorial disputes.
